USS Arizona In-Depth Stats

It’s been very quiet lately, but no there’s something: the preliminary stats for the long-teased battleship USS Arizona are finally available on gamemodels3d. Seems like she’s in testing now, and that means these stats are not final and can change at any time. Still, what we have here will generally reflect what she should be like when she’s released.

Since she’s just been added to the client for the 5.7 test patch, she has no actual in-game model yet; however, back in March a picture of what she’ll look like was teased in a wallpaper WG released.

The red-topped turrets give her away.

Her stats are below, and then under that I’ve got my own brief impressions.

Health: 57 200

Main Battery: 3×4 356 mm/45 Mk9

On the good side, her health is a bit higher than that of a stock New Mexico, her firing range is quite a bit higher – almost as “good” as Warspite – and she’s a premium, meaning she’s good for making credits and training US battleship captains. Oh, and her deck armour might be better than New Mexico‘s, if her historical armour scheme is anything to go by. And… that’s about where it ends.

Arizona, because for obvious reasons she wasn’t refitted after the attack on Pearl Harbour, has utterly miserable anti-air defences. She also turns a tad worse than her tech tree counterpart, and her guns reload a tiny bit slower, with slower shells, too.

In other words, she’s a New Mexico but worse in most areas and better in a few: a completely typical premium. We’ll have to see if WG gives her an interesting quirk, like the ridiculous AA that Texas has, and I have my own suspicion: one of her main gun turrets is in a separate entry from the other three, which in WoWs usually means there’s something unique about it, typically a different model. Now, all of Arizona‘s turrets were functionally identical, except for one: if you look back up at the wallpaper, you can see one of her turrets has a seaplane catapult on it. The devs have mentioned that, now that we have turret-mounted AA guns, turret-mounted catapults may be implemented as well. It very well could be that Arizona has something special going on there.

Also, we’ve yet to see if she gets any different equipment from the New Mexico; it’s unlikely, but always possible.
