The Battle of Jutland: 100 Years

On the 31st of May and into the 1st of June, 1916, the Grand Fleet of the British Empire and the High Seas Fleet of the German Empire met in the largest naval battle of the First World War. Though not immediately decisive when it occurred, with both sides claiming victory, the British ended up the strategic victors, controlling the vital North Sea and continuing the devastating blockade of Germany which ultimately led to the end of the war.

Wargaming has a nice article about the battle, and I highly recommend reading more about it. It has a very unique place in history for Germany and Britain, and it will always be remembered as a key point in naval history.
